Volunteer Opportunities

As we commence the second half of the school year let us continue to support the students and teachers at NFES by volunteering. There are several needs for volunteers (both in the classroom and school-wide). If everyone signs up for one project, then every project will be supported. The list of volunteer opportunities is below. Please send a message directly to the contact person as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for signing up and volunteering!

 

Volunteer Opportunities

 

Duty: Monitor math stations in the classroom

Date:Any day of the week

Time:12:00 – 12:30

Duty: Read one-on-one with children in the classroom

Date & Time: TBD by Mrs. Myers

Duty: Replace batteries in the keyboards

Date & Time: TBD by Mrs. Hearn

Duty: Help with the paper recycling program

Date:Thursdays (weekly)

Time:1:45 - 2:00

Duty: Maintain the Student of the Month Board outside the front office.

Date & Time: Monthly

Note:The volunteer(s) does not need to be creative, really just hanging paper and letters on the wall. We have the materials.

Duty: Assist with Sickle Cell Anemia Screening

Date: March 28th

Time: 8:30am to 12:00pm

Note: Volunteers do not need any health background just the ability to put on some band aids. They will have a radio to contact Nurse McKenna for anything more than that.

Duty: Re-labeling books in the Media Center

Date & Time: Any help, however great or small, any time or day of the week would be helpful.

Note: This project requires several steps including pulling the books, scanning the books, looking up the information on the computer, labeling the inside of the books, labeling the outside of the books, and then re-shelving the books.
